Direct Primary Care Model vs Traditional Insurance Model
Have you ever considered going to a primary care doctor where insurance is not even part of your initial phone conversation? Think of what it would be like to choose any doctor whose reputation you feel is phenomenal and have the ease to make your appointment and be seen.
Often times we talk with patients who are extremely frustrated with the health insurance industry. They have desired to seek healthcare from a certain doctor or practice and are told from their insurance company that they will have to pay more out of pocket as that doctor or practice are considered out of network. We hear this common complaint from patients on a weekly basis. Patients struggle to work within the confines of what their health insurance will allow. Often times primary care choices are made based on the limitations of insurance companies and not based on how good an individual doctor or practice may be.
The overall costs are something to consider as well when deciding on a direct primary care doctor compared to a traditional primary care that requires insurance. A monthly premium can cost anywhere between $200.00 to $1200.00 while the cost for a membership at Nostalgia Family Medicine and Wellness Center can run between $99.00 to $199.00 a month. Many primary care offices require a co-pay before being seen, we do not require a co-pay. We offer an in-house pharmacy and specialty cash pricing for labs and radiology services.
At Nostalgia Family Medicine and Wellness Center we pride ourselves in offering outstanding patient care and customer service. We don’t require insurance for a patient to be seen, therefore removing the stress that patients may experience when working with their insurance company. We work on a direct monthly payment program, almost like a membership. Patients pay a single fee each month that gives patients the flexibility to schedule in office appointments or telemedicine appointments each month.
Who Do We Treat?
We care for patients suffering from a variety of ailments including the common cold, flu, aches, pains, injuries, blood pressure issues and other ailments including sickle cell anemia, HIV/Aids and other illnesses that may be eligible for medical marijuana treatments. We also care for patients seeking non-surgical treatments such as Botox and fillers and vascular therapy.
Many primary care offices require a health insurance policy in order to be seen and do not offer the flexibility in treatment programs that Nostalgia Family Medicine and Wellness Center can offer. Very few primary care doctors in the Longwood and Lake Mary, Florida area can offer medical marijuana treatment cards. This is one of the many benefits we offer at Nostalgia Family Medicine and Wellness Center. People suffering from cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV/Aids, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Crohn’s Disease, chronic seizures, severe or persistent pain and or muscle spasms are all qualifying conditions that a person would be eligible to apply for medical marijuana treatment. Our team will meet with each patient, review the issues and discuss eligibility for receiving a medical marijuana treatment card. We offer the best in patient assessment when considering a patient’s eligibility for medical marijuana treatments.
